  Insurance Replacement Appraisals
An insurance replacement appraisal is a report used to assist your insurance company replace your item in the event of theft, loss or damage. An appraisal is required to receive coverage on your jewelry items and is recommended that the appraisal is updated every two to three years. Through World Gemological Services, updates are at no additional cost. Insurance replacement appraisals show the value of the item with current market prices for diamonds, gemstones, gold, etc… Please ask your insurance provider for more details.

An estate appraisal helps in putting a value on inherited items as well as division of items as in death or divorce.

If for any reason you have a question regarding your item or if you need help in selecting items for your jewelry store, we provide consulting services to assist you. Services vary according to need. Presently, Mr. Cortez is deeply involved with the operations of World Gemological Services as its director, appraiser and gemological consultant to the trade. Mr. Cortez is available for those within the trade that require product appraisal expertise, inventory analysis, lectures/training to groups and companies. Mr. Cortez and WGS's team of Graduate Gemologists have been providing gemological services to insurance companies, jewelry trade, independently owned retail stores to large multi-store chains, wholesalers, and others.

If you are unsure as to the authenticity or the identity of a gemstone, we are able to test with the newest technology and identify the stone.
